A Conversation With An Account Manager
How long have worked doing recruitment and where? (Your career journey)
I ‘stumbled’ into recruitment over 10 years ago when looking for my new career choice after being made redundant. I went from signing on at the JobCentre…to working there. I’ve never looked back. I love the fact that we are constantly changing candidates’ lives and supporting client’s at their time of need.
What would you say is the most valuable thing you can provide for a client.
It sounds silly, but if I say I’m going to do something, I do it! I’ll be upfront and honest with the candidate and client also. If we feel that the role doesn’t suit CE Solutions’ business model, we won’t take it on. Recruiters sometimes get a bad name, but we’re building something special here, disrupting the recruitment sector, supporting the public sector and private sector clients with volume entry level roles right up to mid-level roles. Clients love our weekly calls and communication throughout, the fact that we screen out non relevant candidates, and the weekly digital report that gives them insight into how the advert is performing/demographic data/trends etc.

One specific Police Force that we continue to work with wanted to top up their ‘pool of candidates’ as theirs had ran dry and wanted some support. We have since saved them time, money and effort supporting them every other month now with their recruitment. I think they’ll admit there are not many paces they can go where they can recruit for 23 Call Handlers for £1200 all in! For the majority of campaigns we work on, we always tailor the campaign and make it bespoke to the client as we know…One size doesn’t always fit all’! Some would see what we do as ‘going above and beyond’ but we just see it as ‘it’s what we do’. We always strive for perfection and want to work as hard as possible to bring the client as many strong, pre screened candidates as possible.
Any examples of you going above and beyond when a client needed something unique
Daily we speak to candidates giving them hints and tips – A private sector client wanted to set up some assessment days but didn’t have a way of advertising the vacancy and driving traffic to the assessment date/s. We were able to market the vacancy, and add into the pre screen a question about the assessment days asking the candidate for their preferred date/s. This provided the client with a strong pool of relevant candidates with their CV, the answers to their pre screening questionnaire and their preferred date of assessment. The results was 19 hires all for £1200!! A job well done, even if I do say so myself!
